hole in ceiling

I have a building model which contains 2 floors. There are also stairs in the building. Between the stairs there is a ceiling and I cannot draw a hole in there. So the stairs go “into” the ceiling. How can I solve this problem? on the picture you can see the front-view. and I need to remove only a part of the ceiling. I considered drawing a vertikal hole, but it does not allow me to do so. .

I think you have modify the sketch lines/boudary for the ceiling. and just add another rectangle/boudary for opening required for stiar. you will get the result.

A "Shaft Opening" element will cut not only the floors, but also any ceilings and roofs it intersects.

You can sketch the shaft opening to match your stair layout.
