If you want a stand alone wall like the one in the PDF you can attach it to a sloped reference plane. You can also attach walls to slabs (floors) and roofs.

As far as i know walls cannot be attched to vertical reference planes. The pdf file shows a wall section and not profile view. This is my problem.I haven;t found how can i attach a wall to a reference plane.

Here is a section view. Made by attaching to a Ref Plane. If this is not what your looking for I've misunderstood. Please explain your wishes a little clearer.

I am sorry for not explaining correctly what i want. What i mean is that i want the section of the wall that is drawn in the pdf in Plan View. Not in section and not in profile view.

Yeah after the last post I kind of figured. You are correct there is no way to side attach to a Ref Plane. Maybe someone else will have a good workaround.

Have you tried cutting the end of the wall with a void?

(hopefully you don't have to do this in too many places.)

It seems like this is the solution but revit don;t cut the wall with a void. I create the void through a column where i delete everything and then create the shape and the void that i want.Does it matter that i make the void like this? And why i can;t cut the wall?It seems like revit wants a reference plane .

Here we go, step by step:

1) Go to the plan view of the wall you want
2) on the modelling tab, select "create"
3) For the category, select "walls" (I don't know if this is required)
4) From the design bar select "Void Form>Void extrusion"
5) Sketch the slice you would like taken off your wall, constrain if necessary.
6) Finish sketch
7) Select the extrusion, give it the correct height/depth.
8) While still in the void creation tool, select "cut geometry"
9) Pick the void, then the wall.
10) Wall is now cut.
11) Finish family.

1. Select your wall in elevation
2. In Type Selector, click on 'Edit Profile'
3. This takes you in sketch mode. Edit your sketch to suit your requirements.
4. In Design Bar, click on 'Finish sketch' and you are done.

This method does work in elevation.

However, the original post was asking how to do this in a horizontal section through the wall.

See above posts for that answer.
