what's meaning of  material definition  -----"By Category" as I create a structural member myself in Revit ?

 

Please give me a guide

Hi,

To know what is the material assigned to the category, you need to access the object styles dialog.
To do that either go to manage, object styles or use VV and then select object styles. There you can assign the default material for each category and use the by category for them in the materials property.
