Linked Revit Model

I have linked in a Revit model from our Architect for a project. I am trying to turn off the visibility of several arch. elements such as door, windows, casework, cabinets, counters, etc. When I go into the visibility graphics dialog and go to the linked categories I have no options. I can only turn off and on the model, not the elements in the model. Does anybody know what is happening?

Also, they have established worksets in their model. Is there anyway to utilize these to my benefit? When I turn the visibility of these worksets off nothing happens.

In the Visibility Graphics dialog, under Revit links, click on "by host
view" for the link you want to change. Then instead of "by host view",
select "custom". Now you can turn off whatever you want.

You need to set a specific view in the linked model to be active, via the Custom visual graphics settings for the linked model. You'll also have to have some idea what the Architect put on each of these worksets.

P.S. Workset in the linked model may not be active if you are not using worksets in your model.
