Length of Divided Path

I have made a adaptive railing component (RST2013). Addaptive points with a reference line (spline) through the points. I'm interesting in listing the lengt of the Divided path that I've made of this reference line (since this is the lengt of the railing). When I select the Dividet path in the family editor the length is grayed out in the property window. Ideas anyone, how to get this information accessable in my project?

It could be that you are not selecting the right layout method.

Please check out htis document:

I'm using fixed distance, as layout method. But it is the total length that I am not able to list, or put in to a parameter or read when I have plased my railing component, (which then have its unique length). This is a "read-only" parameter, and I don't see how changing the layout method will change my chances to list this parameter.....

You are right, the Lengh parameter is a ready only and can't be modified.

My intention is not to modify it, but to read it/acces it so that i can know my total length of railing........ Any ideas?

When you select a "Path"in the proprierties dialog box you will see that the "Lenght>Path Lenght" is exactly the lenght of the line you drew and had it divided.

Please check the image.

That value can't be changed but it reads the real value of the segment.

Hope this is what you were refering to.
