Joints of Curved members

Currently I am working within revit structures 2012(cannot go to 2013 as proejct team uses 2012) and the members in the attached section do not want to cut/join as if they are welded together.

Is there any guidance on how I can do this while keeping the members curved because they are to be made of steel plates welded together and tapering in total size to keep with the architectural aspirations.

The taper beam section I had to create for this member. The section had to be made from two Sweeps(1 is a void sweep) because it would not let me do them as one sweep properly as one.

I have also changed the family to be concrete materials which gives me the same problem
