Hidden lines on footings and pedestals

I have a phenomenon where when I added a pedestal (concrete column) to the bottom of my steel column and moved the footing down to the bottom of the pedestal, the footing, which showed in hidden lines because it was beneath the floor slab, is now shown in solid lines--even though it is still below the floor slab. The pedestal is also showing up solid line instead of hidden.
Changing the Detail Level or Graphics Style doesn't help.
Any ideas as to how to get them back to hidden lines?

The footing probably now falls between the "Bottom of the Primary Range" and the "view depth".

Any objects in this range are rendered in the "Beyond" linestyle.

To change this:
Select the view, and go to its properties dialog.
In the "Extents" section of the properties dialog, push the "Edit" button next to "View Range".
Set the "Bottom" value (of the Primary range) to be the same as the "View Range".

Thanks. That did it.
I always get frustrated trying to adjust the View Range. It never seems to behave the way I expect it to.
