Controlling which member cuts which

When 2 members meet at a point, is there a way to control which entity controls cutback?

In the attached image, I'd like to move the PFC so that it's in line with the end of the tapered beam (as shown by the blue arrow). Once I've done this Revit cuts back the tapered beam to suit the channel, but what I want is for the tapered beam to remain as it is, and the PFC to be cut back to suit the beam.

Is this possible?

p.s. RVT file in following post.

I can't upload the RVT, even this small model is 4MB.

Try uploading to the customer files newsgroup, then posting a link back here:

Have you tried using the coping tools?

It seems the customer files newsgroup has the same attachment size restriction as the regular forums, kind of defeats the purpose?

I found the compact file option, and zipping up the result got me under the wire.

Hi Anthony,

Thanks for the suggestion. This gets us out of a corner (for now!). It would be nice to able to specify a sort of parent/child relationship when bringing members together, or to be able to specify that a member can't be cut-back.
