type catalog format

I modified an existing diffuser in Revit and created a type catalog to go along with it. I wanted to include a "Min Flow" parameter in the type catalog, but I think my formatting is wrong because when I try to load a specific type within the family into a project, it warns me that:

"the parameter Min Flow doesn't exist in the Family. It will be ignored."

I have it currently formatted as 'Min Flow##other##' and I tried using Min Flow##hvac_air_flow##cubic_feet_per_minute but it created more problems than the current format. I also made sure that I had Min Flow as a parameter in my family but for some reason when I select it, it doesnt give me the option to remove or modify the parameter.

why isnt this working and how can I resolve it? Thanks.

Make sure the family has this parameter filled out in the default types, other wise the type catalog won't load correctly.
