linked in levels

Hi .people

I have made a architectural model containing 3 levels at present GF, FF  & SF.

i then opened up a mechanical template and linked in the architectural model. i expected the levels within the mechanical template to match the levels of the linked architectural model ie:

HVAC - GF

HVAC - FF

HVAC - SF

..................

But the levels within the mechanical template simple stay as they were.

Should this happen or have i just assumed a feature that is not available.Smiley Indifferent

Do i need to alter the mechanical template each time to suit the linked in model.?

still only a novice so any help is very much appreciated

Thanks

Levels should not be a part of your Template, and there should not be any in there. The standard practice is to Copy/Monitor the Levels from the Architectural Link (using an Elevation View). This will copy all of the selected Levels into your model and furthermore, using Coordination Review, you will be alerted to any changes that the Architect makes to these Levels. If you need any more info, don't hesitate to ask!
