Using Worksets

I am currently setting up a Central File in a practice project consisting of Lvl. 1 power for a massive clean room.

Is it possible to set up the worksets for individual areas (A-F) in order for each team member to work in thier designated area? Each team member will have to be able to model/design both the transformers/distribution panels along with conduit runs.

Is it better to use worksets or just have each individual model in thier designated area via local file and simply sync up at the end of every day?

Thanks

Yes - you can assign the model elements whatever Workset you would like. Make sure that the users remember to set the correct active Workset. The only issue you may run into here is the conflict of 'ownership' amongst the Views and Sheets.

If each of the areas is a totally separated module, then you may be able to use separate Revit Models for each area. However, if the systems (mech, elec, etc.) interconnect throughout the building, you'll need to have everything in the same model. There are several factors to whether or not to break up a Project and how, based on size and complexity.

Here, at this office, we only use Worksets to control visibility of elements en mass. If a user modifies an element, he becomes a temporary 'borrower' and takes ownership of that element until he/she synchs again. We do not have any need to 'check out' Worksets in-office.
