This can occur for a number of different reasons, but there is a solution to
the issue.
If you are using the latest build of Revit MEP 2008 (download it from
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=9262907) you can
change the size of temporary dimensions by modifying the Revit.ini file
located in C:\Program Files\Revit MEP 2008\Program.

Does anybody know what would cause the temporary dimensions to appear
extremely small? For some reason they display only about 1/16" tall on my
monitor. My coworkers machine displays them much more legibly. Also, they
only appear small until I am in edit mode at which time they display normal
at about 3/16" tall. The attached file is a screenshot of what I am
describing.
