Supply Grille Mounted on Duct

I downloaded a Revit family from Price which is a supply grille.  It is a hosted family, and so I can place it right on the duct face.  However, it has a connector, and when placed on the duct, it shows as an open connection.  I have heard there is an option in Revit 2014 that can be checked to make the grille mounted on the duct, is there any way in 2013 to make the grille connected to the duct, while hosted on the face?

Not really - previous to 2014, a duct-mounted diffuser needs a section of duct and a duct fitting in order to stay connected (if you are using taps). You can at least modify the length of the tap to something very small to minimize the appearance and then move the diffuser as close to the duct as you can.

I guess I'll have to do that.  We have 2013 and 2014, but this model has to be done in 2013 since there are at least 2 other firms we are working with.
