Splitting a pipe Revit 2012

I cant seem to break a pipe in revit 2012.

The split with gap doesnt work. The split adds a socket or a flange (depending on routing preferences), but mends itself when the fitting is deleted.

To wrap a beam or a duct, I am cutting a tee into the pipe to run around the obstruction, then deleting between the tees and converting the tees to elbows!

There must be a better way!

TIA

Pete

I don't think Split with Gap has ever worked correctly for MEP items unfortunately. If you split the pipe and then drag the ends away from the union it places, it shouldn't reconnect. Annoying I know.

Thanks Abdulla

You are saying thatr the best solution to adding a wrap is to split the pipe either side of the obstruction, then delete the pipe and the added sockets/couplings/flanges then re-route the pipe?

If this is the case, I hope they improve it in new versions

Cheers

Pete
