Shared parameter

Hi all
We are working on a model, which is already done by some other.
Do we need the shared parameter file, which was created by them.
becoz I am unable to edit some of the labels. For example I am able to edit vav tag, but not fcu tag.
Both are mechanical equipment's The parameters in the label are not in the model families. They are only in the mechanical equipment tag family.

Thanks in advance

In the family editor, when you are editing the label of the tag, click on the name of the "foreign" shared parameter. Click on the button to edit. In the next window, click on "Export". That will include this shared parameter in your own shared parameters file, under a group named as "exported parameters" (or similar).
