part question
1. In a schedule what needs to be done to show
say 350.0 as 350? No decimal
just rounding off up or
down.
{color:#ff0000}under the properties of the schedule go to
the formatting tab
highlight the parameter you need to be
rounded
click field format
uncheck the use project units then
you can change the decimal place{color}
2. When placing a room,
space or area tag, can one of the values perform a
calculation, or
pull from a value parameter or other and have it show up in
the tag.
An example would be: using the area for the room and multiply it by
2.5 and place that value.
{color:#ff0000}a shared
parameter would need to be created and added to the part your trying to do
this for. the parameter would then be a formula multiplying the 2 other
parameter. when you create that shared parameter make sure that the unit type
matches what would be created by multiplying the 2 other parameters. if thats
not clear enough let me know{color}
Did you ever get your second problem to work? I am running into this as we speak. I've tried everything under the sun, and the only help I've gotten is to use BIM Link. There has to be another way. Thanks.
Hi wyankey, welcome to the Discussion Groups!
The Labels that reside in a Tag are only capable of reporting the value of a given parameter that belongs to the tagged element, so the Tag is not capable of housing any calculations. The best you could do would be to create a Shared Parameter and target that with the Tag, but unfortunately, Shared Parameter cannot include formulas or calculations either, which required manual input.
Thanks for the info. This is exactly what I was afraid of. I've been doing far too much research this morning to come up with a dead end.
