I am working on a project which is unbearably slow!! I got this from an Arch/Eng & it is only 52.9 MBs but slower than any other project we have worked on before, Any ideas? I have already purged out everything, Would it help if I went into the Architectural & Structural links & actually erased what I do not need to make the links smaller? I know that the next question is going to be what are you using for a computer, I have been reassured that I have sufficient memory & speed by the IT guy.
We had the same problem on this 10 story hospital. I litteraly timed commands envoked and they were really long.. in the minutes for some simple commands. We went ahead and divided the bulding into 3 section or models. But also what I think was slowing down the project was multiple people working on the same project. I had been working on the project alone but now before submitting it we have 3 people working on it and I am noticing its very slow.
I don't think 52 MB should cause so much trouble, however, whenever you have a workshared projects, it is best to work separately in worksets. Just make sure you turn on what you need and turn off what you don't.
Place your revit links in 1 workset (Maybe one for each)
Place your cad links in 1 workset (Again you can do the same here)
Divide your structure as per the working group (Needs some management here).
In the end, you will find this to be very helpful.
