Revit Systems Content Creation Tutorial

Revit Systems Community,
I wanted to let everybody know that we just recently posted a set of tutorials on creating Revit Systems content. I think these are a great resource for everyone who wants to learn to build Systems-specific content. You can find download for the tutorials on the Documentation section of our product web site, http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=8779713.

Cheers,

Apologies if that wasn't the one he mentioned... I'm getting thrown off
by half of the stuff being for ABS and the other for RSys...

Sorry for being no help at all. I can't find anything more.

Just something to take note of when navigating, from this page:
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=9261957
There are links to ABS and RSys 'data and downloads' but, neither of
them works (this is through services and support, I did find a link for
RSys Data and downloads through the Products pages, earlier).

And what about those of us using Vista? Where should the files extract? There is no "All users" folder that I can find. Any suggestions?

Jose

Jose,
You can put them wherever you want really. The instruction just have you placing them in the same locations as other tutorial files in Windows XP.

just wanted to let everybody know that we've posted an updated version of our Content Creation Tutorial on our website, you can find them at www.autodesk.com/revitmep-documentation

They are towards the bootm of the page. You will find that we have added some material as well as re-formatted the content like a standard tutorial.

Any comments are welcome.

Suggest that a posting date be added so we know when new content or
there are updates. I downloaded some of the tutorials a few weeks ago
and now I am not sure if any of them are new/updated

Tom,
That's a great idea. We haven't updated any existing link, just posted new ones thus far, but I can see there being some confusion. No real case against having a post date. I'll see if I can get our Web Team to coordinate that for us.

Kyle,
I think I posted this question somewhere before, maybe AUGI, but, I have downloaded and unzipped the tutorial files for MEP family creation but, I cannot find any documentation to tell how to use the files. Should there be a line item in the help/tutorial menu like there is for the other MEP tutorials?
Message 18 of 20

Hmmm, I'm not sure, I'll ping our TechPubs guys on this one.

The family editor tutorials do not have a link from the Help menu in Revit. The tutorial PDF is in Program Files\Revit MEP 2008\Program. For example, the file 'FamilyEditorTutorialENU.pdf' is the imperial version, English language. Just open the PDF, and you can start using the Family Editor tutorial and datasets.

It does say in the web page where the PDF is extracted, but I can definitely see how it's not clear about how to get started. The only reason this tutorial is different is that we released it well after we released our other Revit MEP 2008 tutorials.

Thanks Kris I will go there and find the PDF. But, I also had to download the other MEP tutorials. They evidently did not come with on the installation DVD therefore I assume that the family creation tutorials would also show up on the help menu.

Thanks again
