Revit MEP 2012/13 .. Open IFC not working

hi all,

I am unable to open any IFC files with Revit MEP 2012 or 2013 ... there is simply no reaction once i select the IFC file and click Open. Revit doesn't crash nor do i get any error message, it just doesn't appear to even try opening the file.

No problem doing the same in Revit Arch + Structure 2012 and 2013.

I've uninstalled MEP 2012 & 13, reinstalled and updated to UR2 and no change.

I've also tried Graphisofts 'Improved IFC Impor' Add-In (which works in Arch+Str) and this at least gives me an error message - although not a particularly informative one (see attached)

This is occuring in a Windows 7 (fully updated) VM running under Parallels 7

any suggestions as to cause / solution?

cheers,

owen

I can only be of very limited (if any) help here, but does your 'export to .IFC' function properly?

Hi CADastrophe,

Apologies for the late reply - i did not receive any email notifications of your response to my post

Yes Export>IFC works (as does the Graphisoft 'Export to ArchiCAD' plugin which uses the IFC format)

cheers,
