Hello,
My Revit MEP 2014 take a long time to launch.
Looking in the logs files it seems it hang dealing with the server license :
'C 15-Apr-2014 18:00:15.611; 0:< manage licensing ' 0:< ::1:: Delta VM: Avail -100 -> 8387148 MB, Used +15 -> 267 MB, Peak +9 -> 268 MB; RAM: Avail -64 -> 6071 MB, Used +37 -> 343 MB, Peak +34 -> 343 MB ' 0:< License mode: Network ' 0:< Server: distributed ' 0:< Server List: @SERVER1;@SERVER2; ' 0:< Status: La connexion au serveur de licence est établie. ' 0:< Type: Network ' 0:< Usage: Commercial ' 0:< Behavior: Permanent ' 0:< Expiration: None 'C 15-Apr-2014 18:03:59.384; 0:< manage involvement
Almost 3' to manage license. After this, Revit works normally
Borrow a license solves the problem...
The computer's drivers (network card, graphic card) are up to date, Windows 7 x64 is up to date, uninstall then reinstall Revit change nothing.
DNS are ok, put IP address for server change nothing. Same behavior with other user (with or without administrator's rights).
Any ideas are welcome
Thanks
Do you have more than one server, or an environment variable on the client that is looking for another server before failing over to a working one? 3 minutes seems high. I am thinking some sort of timing out issue.
Hi,
yes i have 2 servers and an environnement variable 'ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE : @SERVER1,@SERVER2'. (reverse the order does not change anything).
The two servers are up and answer to a ping.
There is no 'licpath.lic' file in ' C:\Program Files\Revit MEP 2014
But weirdest is that Autocad 2012, on the same machine, start in a few seconds ...
Regards
I'm not 100% sure this is the amswer to you problem, but .... Do you have an environment variable (Windows) for the license server timeout? We had to add one here. We use Variable FLEXLM_TIMEOUT set = to 1000000.
Hope this helps.
Yes i have this environment variable FLEXLM_TIMEOUT set to 5000000.
Set it to 10000000 change nothing as well as remove it ....
Wondering if the delay is caused by license cascading?
Do both license servers have MEP Suite licenses? Do you also have Building Design Suite license? Are any of these package license?
If you rename the file CascadeInfo.cas at "C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\AdLM" and restart Revit does it help?
Are all your Revit users seeing the same delay or is it just a few machines?
Thanks,
Danny
In the Windows Registry you might also check the value of the key ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FLEXlm License Manager between the machines to see if there are any difference.
Thanks,
Danny
