Reference planes merging when creating a family

Everytiime 2 of my refernce planes come in to line, one of them will lose its own parameter and respond to the others. Basiclly my reference lines are merging on contact. This seems to only happen with circles. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I don't quite follow what you're describing here; can you please elaborate or provide images? Also, what release of Revit are you running?
