Has anyone noticed with the updates, the flip arrow now not only flips 180° it also rolls 180°.

Here is an example of one flip. Same action is observed in 2012 and 2013

Please also post the family file with which you are seeing this so that we can investigate the family file itself.

This Control Valve is a custom example. The Ball Valve is OOB.

During our testing, the rotate buttons look to be working normally. Here is a short video:

The mirror aspect (flip) -180° -orientation is the question. In plan view the use of the flip arrow changes orientation and rotates. Should the flip be associated only to one action?

Thank you for the update.

It looks like there's an issue with the template for the ball control valve. Did you use that family as the template file when creating your family? If not, which one did you use?

We found that placing a new flip control works as expected.

Having said that, I have logged this issue with our Development group to see if they can shed any more light as to what may be going on.

Thank you for your patience while we researched this issue.

As the flip control is automatically generated, the permanent fix requires the code for Revit to be modified, and as such we do not have a fix at this time other than adding a new flip control to the family

We understand that this may not be the preferred workflow, but as I mentioned the fix requires the code for Revit to be modified.
