Yes, it is. You can define the single-line appearance under Object Styles » Model Objects tab » Ducts category » Center line subcategory. Set the desired pattern under the Line Pattern column. This is the project-wide; If you wanted to define this for a specific View only, use Visibility/Graphics overrides in the exact same way.

If each of you Duct System types is intended to have it's own Line Pattern, then you should use View Filters. (Reference WikiHelp or just ask if you need more info on those.)

To change the appearance of a Category, Project-Wide:

Go to Manage tab » Object Styles. In this dialog, you can control the basic visibility settings for each Category of elements in the Project, including Color and Line Pattern. There are many Categories that also include Subcategories, such as the 'Center Line' subcategory under Ducts.

**Object Styles essentially defines the default appearance of all elements in the Project provided that they are not being overridden by other visibility settings.

To change the appearance of a Category, View-Specific:

Go to View tab » Visibility/Graphics (or you can type "VV" which is the default shortcut). This dialog very closely resembles the Object Styles dialog, except that you have more options, such as being able to "turn off" an entire Category of elements with the associated check box. The difference between the two is that Visibility/Graphics Overrides only apply to the current View, but they can also be linked to View Templates (Revit 2013 or later).

**Visibility/Graphics Overrides settings will take priority over Object Styles settings when there is a conflict.

Defining a View Filter to distinguish a Duct/Pipe System:
Like Visibility/Graphics Overrides, View Filters are view-specific and apply only to the current View, however, they may be defined by View Templates as well. Go to View tab » Visibility/Graphics (or type "VV") and then go to the Filters tab. There are typically three preset Filters in the default Mechanical Template, which define the Ductwork's color based on its System Classification (Supply, Return, or Exhaust).

To define a new Filter, click "Edit/New..." and then click the "New" button in the lower left of the following dialog. In the center, select the Categories that you wish this Filter to apply to (i.e. Ducts, Duct Fittings), Under Filter Rues, you define the criteria that determines if an element qualifies for the Filter. Set "Filtered by:" to System Classification", the pull-down below it to "contains", and in the space below that, enter the text that would be included in the element's System Classification (i.e. "supply", "exhaust"). Click 'OK', and then click "Add" to add the new View Filter to the current View. Use the current visibility settings to control the appearance of these elements.

** View Filters will overrides both Visibility/Graphics and Object Styles in the case of a conflict.

I hope this helps - don't hesitate to ask if you have further questions.
