FABmep Import for Revit MEP available on Autodesk Labs

There is a new technology preview you can try:

http://labs.autodesk.com/utilities/revit_fabmep/

The FABmep Import for Revit MEP is a free technology preview that enables users to import Autodesk Fabrication FABmep models to provide round-tripping capabilities for as-built/record drawing purposes.

What do you mean by the extensions. Is this helping you get from FAB MEP to REVIT MEP? That is our current task.

Where did you get the dll files? We are having this same issue.

I wish you could map things other than dimensions. More specifically item numbers to item mark.

Thank you for the suggestion. THis is what we need to hear in the technology preview stage.

I have not yet received a new installer from the team although I believe their plan is to continue to collected feedback via an extended technology preview.

I posted a new build on the Autodesk Labs site this morning. This build extends the technology preview for Revit MEP 2013 users to March 31, 2014.

I've contacted the developer directly, he's sent me an email this morning saying that he had updated it and it seems to be working fine now.

Everyone should be happy with the rotating elbows being fixed.

Does anyone know if the flip and hand orientation toggles work, I'm trying to flip a 'Y' branch but nothings happening!

Had a bit of a issue yesterday when mapping a copper fitting to a Revit copper fitting and using the calculation tool. When using a formula to halve the 15mm diameter it calculated it as 7 and not 7.5 which means there's a rounding issue somewhere. To test I edited the fitting and added another parameter to check the original number that was being passed over and it was indeed 15.

Has anyone else experienced this rounding issue?

For those who wish to get started with this technology, there is a tutorial that includes a document, 3 videos, and some sample files.

Im a novice at this and am attemting to map a ventilation system. Im struggling with the mapping of the round bend to the Revit round bend as the bend always comes in at 300mm. So effectivelly 300mm is the default. Ive had a play with the different dimensions Map settings but nothing seems to change it from the 300mm default.

Any information would be greatly recieved.

Any mapped dimensions from FAbrication CADmep to Revit would be a massive help.
