Present we are draw a line at the bottom of the duct and dimension given to the line.

do you mean you want to make the duct on certain height from the floor that you request on the section ?

if so, you make the section, make the Dim. for it
then click on the duct, after than you will see the Dim. value became smaller size, click on it, specify the lenght

hope i didn't get you wrong

Hi

Sorry, if I am wrong. My doubt is not about prefix or suffix.

What I mean is how can I draw dimension to the bottom of the duct.

Default dimension can take only to the center of the duct.

I am unable to take dimension to the bottom of the duct.

Thanks in advance

Press Tab when you're hovering over the ductwork in the Dimension command to select the bottom edge.

 Hi Abulla

I don't know what I am wrong.

I am not able to select bottom edge even with tab.

Hmm I'm not sure what the problem is then. Are you using an Aligned Dimension or a Linear Dimension? I was able to tag the top and bottom with an aligned dimension, I had to press tab to select the center of the ductwork.

In the initial Section View in the sample project you attached, the Rise/Drop symbol is preventing you from selecting the top or bottom of the Duct. Open Visibility/Graphics Overrides and temporarily turn off the "Drop" and "Rise" Subcategories under Ducts.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Tab-select will not work for edges of ROUND duct?

Hi cadstrophe

thanks for the solutions. We are wasting our time with drawing a line for every bottom of the duct from long time.

thanks for all.
