Details, Diagrams and Misc.

In order to issue a drawing set, we need to create riser diagrams, piping flow diagrams, details sheets, specifications and misc. drawings like AHU part plans, airflow diagrams etc.

How can this be done using Revit without having to revert to AutoCAD? This is an extremely urgent request, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ultimately these items need to be drafted today. You can use a Drafting View inside of Revit to generate it, or you can do it in AutoCAD and link it into your Revit project as a drafting view. That view can then be dragged onto your Sheets.

It's really a matter of what's the best tool to create these items. Today there isn't specific functionality in Revit MEP to support the automatic creation of such drafting views, so it's really up to you to decide what's the best means (software) to an end (drafted view).

Hope that Helps,

You can link an Autocad Detail into a Drafting View, then place that drafting view onto a sheet. Almost everyone starts this way. We have been selecting several details per project and re-drafting them into REvit, since linking in large numbers of Autocad Details will slow the system down, versus having them already drawn in Revit
