Hello all, I was wondering if there was a way to create CSV files automatically from a family with different "types". I figure I could limit the size of my project file if instead of loading in a family with 10 different types I created a CSV file and only loaded one type at a time. Any ideas? Thanks!
All you have to do is use DB Link addon and export your family/project info to Microsoft access. From There just create a report in Access or send back to excel to create the text file.
Another consultant sent me a Revit project model. I can't make a tee pipe connection in that model. Looks like some of their pipe fittings use custom lookup tables. I was thinking I would have to ask them to send their csv files. I think this thread tells me I could re-create their csv files (if I had the addon). The way I understand it; the csv files are located on my hard-drive, not in the individual model elements or the parent model. Seems to me, if the lookup tables were part of the model, I wouldn't have this problem.
In the current version of Autodesk Wikihelp it lists the following procedure:
To manage lookup tables
I don't see any "Manage" button ton click within the "Family Types" dialog. Is this "help" valid for v2013?
