Hi all,
Need your help now. I have a MEP model and linked to an architectural revit file. How could I attach a MEP object to an architectural object (e.g wall, ceiling...) so that when the architectural move, the MEP object also move automatically?
Many thanks,
Van

Van,
Use the COPY/MONITOR Feature on the Collaboration TAB. Copy the Levels, Walls Floors, etc that are in the Arch Model....thus "linikng directly" to the Architectural Model. Then if/when the Arch makes changes to their model tha affects you, you'll be notified and allowed a chance to react accordingly to the alerts.

You can use face based families choosing Place on Vertical Face for walls and Place on Face for floors and ceilings. They will move when the arch elements are moved. They will stay in place (not deleted) if the arch element is deleted/replaced.

I would suggest refraining from Copy/Monitoring all of the Walls and Floors, cluttering up your model with those elements. It will become a mess without rigid and knowledgeable supervision as the architect inevitably deletes and redraws Walls, leaving you essentially in the same positions as you would be if you just relied on the face-based elements.

Agreed. If the host is removed, the element will become "Orphaned". There is a neat little tool under the Collaborate tab called "Reconcile Hosting" which will list and allow you to easily locate all of these Orphaned elements.
Thank you, guys. It's very useful recommendation.
One more thing: I've created a MEP level to place MEP objects. How to link/attach this level to architectural level so that when the architectural level change, the MEP object also change.
Thanks.
If you have already created the Levels in your MEP Model, make sure that they are in the same locations as the corresponding Levels in the linked model. Then you can just use the "Monitor" tool (while Copy/Monitor is active) to select your Level and then the corresponding Level in the link to create an associative relationship.
