Can't set a junction in routing preferences

I am trying to run vent piping and I had to make a new system for vent. I set the routing to mostly generic. My problem is the junction is grey'ed out. I can not set a junction. It means that vent is now a huge pain in the butt. I get errors everytime I try to run any vent piping.

Has anyone had this problem or have any suggestions?

Probably because you have specified that the system will be created using taps.

That was it. Thanks. I think you lowered my blood pressure there.

I had a similar problem. Definitely seemed like a glitch in Revit. Initially the pipe system type was set to tees, and I could not change my fitting type, and I would get an error "no fitting is loaded" ... even though there was a correct fitting selected in the routing preferences, though it was grayed out.

If I changed from tees to taps and back to tees, it would then let me select a type of junction fitting, the same one as before, but this time in black.

Toggling between tees and taps seems to reset the junction selector field.
