2011 Electrical Spares

We really like the new Spare/Space feature in 2011, this along with the locking of circuit position and template layout really makes it a viable option to use Revit to schedule panels. I have one observation though, when assigning a spare it shows a wire size (I have customized the schedule to display a wire size). The wire size changes as the breaker size is modified. However what we really want is that a spare would have no wire size - as the breaker is not used for anything, it is just future - no wire should be connected to it.

Am I missing something or is this an oversight?
thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Yes, this was just an oversight. The app treats a spare like a circuit giving it all of the same properties, so there isn't a way now to hide the value in the panel schedule. I have created a request in our database to not show a wire size or wire type for spares.

Thanks,
Eric

FYI - This has been fixed in the 2012 release.
