It would be very helpfull to be able to select components and view them in a seperate 3D orbit viewer similar to what you can do in AutoCAD. The current procedure takes to long and creates a section mark and view that may not be needed.
how about this: highlight the objects either by window selection or by picking, in a 3d view. Type HI (the keyboard shortcut for Isolate elements) and you will have a temporary condition, with just the selected objects visible. then type HR to reset the view. All of this can also be accessed from the view control bar at the bottom of the drawing window, click on the "eyeglasses" icon.
Scott, That's not bad, thanks. The only problem I have with that is that I have to go to a 3D view and find the components I want to view and select them through a "forest" of objects. Selecting from the plan would be SO MUCH EASIER...
Thanks Again!
Aaron
If you select the object(s) in the plan view first and then switch to a 3D view via CTRL+TAB or Ribbon->View->Switch Windows, it will maintain the selection so long as you don't CTRL+TAB through another open project.
That's not bad! Thanks Scott. I will probably use this often!
