A way to either link into or create a file (a plain text file would even
be nice).

I envision this residing in a new category (or in the `reports')

I would like to use this feature to (within the model):
o keep a TODO list
o show my plumbing fixture unit calcs
o keep equipment unit notes
o keep misc design/project criteria

Your thoughts, comments, or concerns welcome.

We'll be adding xml code to a family to generate MS Word 2007 specifications right from Revit. Might interest you, I guess.

What ever happened to this? I still don't see any way to general MS Word 2007 specifications from Revit.

We've been able to generate a Word 2007 document out of a Revit project. We created a Word template per family. The template consists of text on the one hand and fields to be filled in based on parameters in the family instance or type on the other hand. A Word document was generated for a model with a dozen of different instances and types.
It will take some time though to get the necessary templates created.
