Family Editor: Formulas that can work with Text

I would like to see more capability with formulas.  Particularly, I would like to use in IF statements text parameters including the Type Name.

I have wanted this too. It would be nice to have certain bits of geometry be controlled by a text parameter. That way I'm not duplicating work. Here's a scenario:

I have a receptacle, I've set up a text paramter for tagging it. T = tamper proof, and G = GFCI. Rather then now having to set up Yes/No parameters to control the length of a Void Extrusion, I could just use the text value.

I know that you can use Text in formulas, but really only to lock the paramter:

Identity Data:

Parameter: Model = "Model XYC"

That will apply it to every type in that particular family.
