"Navigation to the webpage was cancelled"

Having an issue with a Revit startup screen.  We are no longer getting the typical Revit start screen with the recent projects, etc.  Just the message "Navigation to the webpage was cancelled".  We have reinstalled Revit and run a repair.  How can we fix this?

When Revit launches, it uses Internet Explorer (IE) to render the recent files page. I've seen changes to IE cause this Navigation Cancelled message.

  • If you have made any recent changes to IE, I would suggest undoing them (if possible).
  • If IE is not the default browser, try setting it as the default browser.
  • Try clearing the Temp folder (You can locate the Temp folder by entering %TEMP% in the Address bar of Windows Explorer).

Hi there,

I have the same problem, getting the message "Navigation to the webpage was canceled" when I start Revit 2011. This happens on my desktop computer.

However, I have a laptop, and I don't have this problem, even though I use it where there is no Internet available.

Therefore I don't think this problem is related to the IE. Thanks anyway.

The First Experience screen (the one with recent projects and families) is coded in HTML.  MS Internet Explorer is called by Revit in oder to display this page.  A faulty installation of MS IE can cause failures at this page.  The status of your connection to the internet has NO impact on this behavior.

Hi,

I had the same issue. Just updated my internet explorer to ver.10 and the problem solved.

Good luck
