I think you need to be more specific. What exactly are you trying to do. Sketch, model, any information. What type of parameters are you looking for.

I think what he and I both want is a parametric, height, width, length adjustable modern looking rectangular steel beams pergolas without any ornamentation. Just simple and clean looking, steel rendered, either stainless steel or mild steel to be painted.

Good looking wood works too.

In my oppinion there are several methods to obtain such a thing..Is up to you to decide which one fits you better....

• Railings - make a type of railing with Rails and Balusters as element of the pergola
• Curtain Wall  or Curtain System  - the mullions will be the bars of the pergola and the Curtain  Panels will be Empty Panels
• Mass Element with Divided Surface for more complicated patterns
• a Structural way using:Columns, Beams and Beam System
