opening in sphere

Hi.....

Can anybody tell me how can I create an opening for door in sphere. I made it using massing(solid revolve) but can't create opening in it. I m working with Revit 2009.

I can't verify that this will work exactly as described because I am using Revit 2013 and 2009 was so far away, but I would use the wall by face tool in 2013. This may have been called an in-place wall family in 2009. If you want to just make an opening in the wall, create a void mass the size of the opening and use cut to cut it from the sphere. Then create a wall surface based on the resultant mass with the void cut from it. You may also host doors or door openings in the in-place wall. Here are a couple of pics from 2013, although the concept is the same as 2009
