Is their a way to export your license information to be used on another computer that has Revit installed on it? I have heard Revit can create a portable linen file that is good for say 30 days and be used on another computer that has the software loaded.

The portable license utility can do this for a stand alone license. The
license can actually be transferred to another computer indefinitely. If
you have a network license then you can borrow the license for up to 30
days (may be longer now with version 9). Unless this has been restricted by
the license service admin.

Exactly, I want to borrow our network license and take it home to use on my computer at home when working in the evening. Thanks, but how to do the transfer?

To borrow a network license you need to have a connection to the license
server. So in the situation you have described you will need to connect to
the office network via VPN or similar and then check out the network
license. The borrowing or a license was more designed for a laptop
situation where the laptop can easily be brought in, connected to the
network, and the license borrowed.

Is their any way of doing it with a file that we can move via USB flash drive or something? Our company is very anal on not attaching outside computers to the network or dialing in VPN at home with our personal computers? I am looking for a way around this. Some had said Revit creates a licensing files that can moved from say my work computer to my home computer for temporary use of the license? Message was edited by: aangle2

Only way to accomplish what you want to do is to have your company downgrade one of your network seats to stand-alone license. It's what I had to do and it's a PITA. Although, allowing users to tunnel into our servers via VPN is a bigger PITA.

I Have problem when try to borrow license by Using VPN connection. It show error[1.5.-5]. When I check the server log, it shows as following:
