installing a range hood

When installing a range hood on the drawing, the range hood does not show up in the floor plan view but does show up in the elevation.   the problem is the range needs to be rotate 90 degrees and i cant .

try using Plan Region:

View > Create > Plan Views > Plan Region > draw a rectangle or a polyline in the area were the range hood is and from Properties > View Range > Edit > change the Cut Plane to a higher value so to see the range hood....after rotating it you can erase the Plan region or you can override it in hidden lines (using : View >Linework > Line Style)

This (Plan Region ) is better then simply change the View Range > Cut Plane.....

Another option is to add an Invisible line in the Hood Family with that proceeds down far enough to be cut by the Cut Plane.

Brilliant!  Simple and fast.  Thanks.
