family column no join with wall

Hi,

Created a family with category 'column' in order to make in room bounding.

This family is basicly some extrusions. nothing fancy about that. However when placed in my model these extusions merge with the wall and inherit their properties which I don't want.

Any thoughts?

Hi Alfredo,

Had a look at that earlier too, sadly unchecking that doesn't solve it. It still merges with the wall.

Strange isn't it?

Oh,

Well, as odd as it may seem. It actually did work. HOWEVER the result is applied to the current situation.

To get it working I did:

* change the family, uncheck the auto-join.

* overwrite the in-model-family, incl. param.

* nothing changes visualy

* move the family away from the wall.

* reallign to the same wall

* NOW it doesn't merge ...

*sigh* Anyways, problem solved.

love python coding
