component category

Is it possible to change the category of a component after it has been
created? For instance, I have some exercise equipment (Category: Specialty
Equipment) that I want to turn off in the floor plan, but turning off
Specialty Equipment via the visibility settings turns off my grab bars as
well. Any ideas? Do I need to create some filters, perhaps?

TIA

Well...I created a new "Subcategory" within the family, and titled it
Exercise Equipment...that seemed to allow me to alter it's visibility
independant of othe Specialty Equipment.
Thanks anyway ;oP

You can alter the category or create a subcategory as you have found out. To
alter the category - edit the family and select Settings->Family Category
and Parameters...

This will be helpful when you discover that a grab bar as a specialty item
does not generate a section - but always shows the elevation....
