cant change my wall height?

for some reason (and this is a reoccurring problem) i cant change the height of some of my walls. this first time i had this problem it was only a couple of walls so i redrew them. but now its a lot more than that so i want to figure out how to fix the problem and prevent it from happening again. the height is unconnected and no matter what view im in the top grip arrow is not showing. can someone help with this please?

The walls may be attached at the top. In this case, changing the wall height
would not change anything. You can select the wall and select "detach' from
the options bar and then click "detach all" in the options bar
