X Y Z !

Hello, I have an excel file containing X Y Z coords of points (issued from a survey). these points are describing 3d open polilines. What is the best way to import those points for using in a topo surface? (obviously without using other external tools) If external tools are needed what tools you suggest? specify if these are free. I have read the good toposurface tutorial, but the tutorial dont specify if there is a way to set x y precisely but only the elevation. Thank you in advance! --- Alain Martini http://www.inalto.com

Not easy in anything but civil software. With the software I have I would use a script to import the points into AutoCAD. Import the 3D point cloud into Viz. Make a mesh of this. Slice the mesh at my contour intervals. Export the generated plines as AutoCAD DWG. Import the DWG into AutoCAD and Revit will make my topo from that. I think I could make a journal file that would create the topo surface, but wouldn't be a simple thing.... Have to give it some thought.
