Weld Symbols in 3D Views?

Has anyone figured out Weld Symbols in 3D views?

Tags, Keynotes, Text, and Dimensions are the only annotation you can place in 3D views. However I found the following work-a-round:

1. Load your symbol in to a Keynote tag, and place a User Keynote to nothing (click on something, but it wont assign).

2. Overlay a second view, and have the Symbols in the second view (Drafting View).

3. Place the Symbols on the Sheet, and not in the view.

#2 would be my first choice. Thanks for posting.
