Walls

Hi, I am working on a remodeling project and I have some new walls along
with some existing walls. They are in the same plane. It is an extension
of a wall. When I try to move the new portion it takes the existing wall
with it. Is there a way to disassociate them from each other? They aren't
pinned or grouped, that is why I cant understand why they wont move
independently. TIA

Try using Phasing. Phasing allows multiple wall in same location.

I understand the phasing part of it, the problem comes in when I try to move a new wall that is at the end of an existing wall and I try to move the new wall it takes both walls and moves them as opposed to only moving the new wall to a new location.

when using the move tool to move a wall, check the Disjoin box in the
Options Bar. This will allow the wall piece to move without affecting the
adjacent pieces.
