Wall from line or spline?

Is there a way to create a wall from line geometry? We have a spline layed out in the drawing and would like to have a wall created following the path of the spline. Can we do this, and if so what are the steps? Thanks, Jeff Hanson

Try the "Ruled Curtain System" under the "Modeling" menu. Take your spline, say on level 1, and make a copy of it on level 2. Then choose "Ruled Curtain System" under the "Modeling" menu. Pick the spline on the lower level, and then pick the spline on the upper level. Next choose "Curtain Grid" from the Modeling tab. Place vertical grids to closely approximate the spline. Or you can create an in-place family. HTH "Jeff Hanson" wrote in message news:40742f77_1@newsprd01... > Is there a way to create a wall from line geometry? Sorry, I should have mentioned that you will need to be in a view in which both splines are visible (a 3d view for example). >Pick the spline on > the lower level, and then pick the spline on the upper level.

Create an in-place family wall. In the Modeling tab, click Create, the select Wall, and give it a name. This will put you into in-place family mode. From the Tools bar, select Solid, the pick Sweep from the resulting pop-up window. This will take you into Sketch mode for defining the sweep. Select Pick Path from the Tools, then select the spline line you already have drawn. Click Sketch Profile in the Tools, and sketch the profile of the wall. You may need to switch views and/or turn on the work plane grid to draw this. You will see a set of Ref Planes with a red dot at the intersection, this is the origin point, and the Ref planes show the axis you are working in. When done, click Finish Sweep, then Finsih Family. You should now see a spline-curved wall. HTH, Scott "Jeff Hanson" wrote in message news:40742f77_1@newsprd01... > Is there a way to create a wall from line geometry?
