I would like to add additional identity data parameters to custom wall types. I can not figure it out. I know it is possible, as I have downloaded custom wall types from USG, that have additional identity data parameters, which are not found in the basic wall types that come with the Revit imperial templates. Can anyone help?
You can make these in a Revit Project File via Settings/Project Parameters and applying them to the Walls Category. You would then need to repeat the process in your project Template so they would be there in all future projects.
You could also work these out in a "clean" project, started without a template, then use that file to "transfer project standards" into your template, and any active projects.
I can set up a shared parameters file... but now how can i get thos shared parameters to apply to my wall types. I really want to create a couple of separate wall parameter which will show up in a custom wall tag, in addition to the base wall type.
Create the parameters in your Shared Parameter File, than, go to Settings/Project Parameters/Add, and change the type tp Shared, and then select the Category, setting it to Walls. That will apply the shared Parameter to Walls. You'll need to create a custom wall Tag, and add those shared parameters to it, then when bring it in (after creating the Project parameters applied to walls) you place it on a wall, the information will show up in the tag.
