Wall sweeps have an endpoint, a blue dot. Also, they have a flip control. Make sure that the endpoint of the vertical sweep and the enpoint of the horizontal sweep are at the same place. They might be in different places. If that's the case, you can drag the endpoints, or use the flip control, untill they match. If the two points are at the same place, the sweeps should miter, or merge, at the corner.
