Scaling in Revit

It is very strange to see all the common modification tools like move, copy, rotate etc. and not having a scale command. I can understand that most of the times there is a way to change the size of something by making a parameter in the family or by making a smaller one in an other file but it is very handy to be able to change the size of a north symbol when you insert it. I used one of my symbols from AutoCAD and when I changed the scale from the properties dialog box the result was strange. It was more like a move command than a scale command. Finally I used "explode" and then "Group" but there was still no scaling option. Is there a way to make objects scalable? What am I doing wrong? Dimitris P.S. The symbol "B" I want to place means "BORRAS" the Greek word for North.

Perhaps the RESIZE command would suit you? (Edit Menu->Resize)
