Revit to Blender

I'm looking at Blender as a visualization suite.

1. Does anyone have had experience bringing projects form Revit to Blender?
2. Does the import and subsequent work required for visuals work OK/ no
hicups?
3. What would be the recommended work flow?
4. Would there be a significant advantage in using 3DS MAX istead?

Thank you in advance for your views.

Hi,

I've never been using Revit yet, but I'm kind of Blender guy. I have found that Revit can export to ifc file format (Industrial Foundation Class), there is ifc plugin for Blender http://www.blender3darchitect.com/2011/06/import-ifc-files-to-blender-with-ifcopenshell/ and you can download it from graphicall.org This solution should work. By the way, you can work with blender and v-ray, to gest hi-end renderers - vray.cgdo.ru

Regards

Martin
