Revit application error

When closing Revit, occassionally I get an error message that pops up that reads the following: Revit.exe - Application Error, The instruction at "0x0114ef7a" referenced memory at "0x00000020". The memory could not be "read". Then I click OK to terminate the program and the program ends. Any one have any idea what can occassionally cause this? Edited by: jenniferg on Oct 29, 2008 3:32 PM

When that happened did it send a report back to
Autodesk? Also have you updated to the latest version? Does every thing seem to
work ok afterwards?

I was not prompted to send or not to send a report back to Adesk. I am using Revit Arch 2009. And, yes, after accepting the error, Revit will restart successfully and the file opens w/o problems. This does not happen everytime the file or program is closed.

Hi. We have the same problem in our office. Sometimes it does corrupt the data. Edited by: dewald@entityarch.co.za on Oct 30, 2008 4:26 PM

The message seems to be quite clear...it appears
you machine is not setup right or insufficent memory, or bad memory or possibly
a bad CPU. You did not say when the error occured. Was it when you started or
while you are working. Also what steps were being perform just before th
error.

1. How much memory do you have.

2. How big is your virtual memory...set it to twice
the size of your machines memory.

Although it might not help it...you might try
re-installing the program completely to make sure its a clean
install.

This is not a hardware problem. We have this same problem on two brand new powerful machines.
IT has check the machines as well. they say it is a software problem.

This happens to us as well, seemingly at random

I noticed that sometimes Revit.exe was not closing down so I suspected the
Comm Center. I disabled it in the registry and so far I haven't seen the
error at shutdown.

My Bad Scott..sorry....my thought still is if it
runs OK on other machines, the machine can be the culprit...and I named only few
items that can effect it.
